The Brigham and Women鈥檚 Hospital (BWH) Hand and Upper Extremity service provides a comprehensive range of patient-focused care for treatment of diseases of the hand and upper extremity (shoulder, arm, elbow and wrist). We provide patients with expert, state-of-the-art and compassionate care.

Under the direction of , our experienced, board-certified hand and upper extremity orthopaedic surgeons are faculty members at Harvard Medical School. The entire clinical team is made up of highly-trained experts in the treatment of arthritis, entrapment neuropathies, Dupuytren鈥檚 disease (or contracture), traumatic disorders and sports injuries of the hand and upper extremity.

We work closely with other specialties at BWH, including rheumatology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and neurosciences, to provide coordinated care for patients afflicted with musculoskeletal disorders. We also collaborate with the Department of Neurology鈥檚 Performing Arts Clinic to treat musicians from all over the world with entrapment neuropathy and other performance-related conditions and injuries.
