Kidney Transplant Patient Support and Education

A kidney transplant is a major surgical procedure with a lifetime of medical considerations. Our staff is here to help you understand how a kidney transplant will impact your health and lifestyle. When you are evaluated for transplant, you will meet with a number of specialists who will provide you with information and answer your questions. In addition, we also offer the educational resources below.

Virtual Workshop: Finding a Living Donor

Need advice and ideas on how to find a living kidney donor? Our BWH nursing and social work staff will provide tips and best practices to help make sure that you get the right message out to your network of potential donors. Bring your draft announcements, emails, Facebook posts, etc. for an interactive experience and get real-time suggestions from our team of experts. Please call 617-732-6480 with any questions.

Renal Transplant Patient & Caregiver Support Group

Looking to increase your knowledge about transplant and interact with other kidney transplant patients? The 45 to 55-minute sessions led by our transplant social workers, often feature a guest presenter, and allow you to meet and speak with patients waiting for a kidney transplant or have received their kidney transplant.

Kidney Crossroads

Chronic Kidney Disease presents many challenges. Individuals with kidney disease benefit from being motivated and committed to their health. This can be difficult, if unsure where to turn. Nevertheless, we are all stronger together. The Brigham and Women’s Transplant Team is here to assist you with decision making activities when you are at a crossroad.
